Prior to calling, please have your policy number and as much information as outlined here including the location of your damaged vehicle available

of your claim report to our office.
If we can assist you in any way, please do not hesitate to contact us.
- First and foremost; if anyone is injured, provide immediate first aid assistance
if qualified and call for emergency services.
- When conditions permit, move to a safe area to prevent further damage.
- Remain calm, courteous and consistent
with your version of the accident.
- Exchange your name, address, telephone number and insurance information with the driver of the other car(s) involved
in the accident.
We suggest the following sequence of obtaining needed information because we’ve had many clients experience the “hit & run” type incident. Unfortunately,
if you can’t positively identify the other driver, you will be required to pay your deductible even if the accident was not your fault.
| Write down the following information: |
- The license plate numbers of the other vehicles, including witnesses (do this first, if possible)
- The name and address of owner of the other automobile
- The other driver's Social Security driver's license numbers
- The names and addresses of all passengers and witnesses
- The date, time, and place of accident
- Description of how the accident occurred
|
|
Cooperate fully with the police, but do not make any admissions about your responsibility in the accident. (Do not admit that it was your fault, even
if it was!) If there were no police at the scene; promptly report the accident to the nearest police station. In either case complete any necessary incident
reports. |
Crash Report
Complete the Motor
Vehicle Crash Operator Report and report the accident to your insurance company immediately, no matter how minor it may be. Under the terms of your
Mass Auto Policy, you must cooperate with your insurance company during the settlement of a claim.
| Please remember that you should not: |
- Leave the scene of any accident
- Try to make any deals
- Accept an offer of money or offer to pay even if you think the accident was your fault
- Shrug off or deny any injury to you or your passengers
|
| Do not sign any statements for anyone other than an authorized representative of your insurance company or agency — be sure to request identification.
However, please be aware that it is common practice for all insurance companies to contact all parties involved in the accident. If you have any concerns
regarding procedure, please contact your claims adjuster. |
