| I believe I was destined to be in the insurance business. At my age 6, our home
burned down due to a malfunctioning gas stove. All I remember was living with my grandmother and that my collie had died in the fire. At age 8, I came
home from school and found that my mom had slipped in the bathroom, hit her head and died from the injury. As a teenager, I discovered that my
step-grandfather who lived with us had passed away while my parents were at work. |

After serving honorably in the US Navy for four years, I took a position with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company as a
sales representative in March 1970. In those days, we offered life insurance products. Unfortunately, death claims are part of the process. Having to
meet with parents who lost their only child in a pool drowning incident or having to deliver life insurance proceeds to a widow with four young
children are only a couple of the many death claim situations during my career. I've never forgotten how that felt.
I delivered the claim checks from those policies, It didn't matter what type of claim it was — I saw the need and the wonderful
benefits of having insurance. Assuming the appropriate coverage is in place, I'm still the person that delivers the money to repair the car, rebuild the house
after the fire, restore a paycheck if you are disabled or wipe out a mortgage for your family if you die prematurely.
After eleven very successful years with Metropolitan, I decided to become an Independent Insurance Agent. I lived in Norton and wanted to locate
my agency in my hometown. Selecting Norton also provided easy access to clients from the surrounding area. I purchased this location because it was a
perfectly-positioned commercial lot with adequate parking on a local highway with easy access from major roads. I wanted the identity of the small
town local insurance broker who knew his clients and was willing to address their needs.
While painting and getting ready to open my office; my first potential client stopped by. He needed coverage; I explained my situation and he was
okay with it. I had no furniture so we actually sat on the floor and I wrote my first new auto policy out of my briefcase. That person is still a
client after all these years. And yes, I do know a great many of my clients and their spouses by name.
I am not a large agency with multiple locations. I do not wish to be a "jack of all trades". My agency works primarily in the
personal lines area. We've grown substantially over the years, but in a controlled environment. I have clients all
over the state because they chose to continue doing business with me after they left the area.
If this is what you are looking for in an agency, I would appreciate an opportunity to do business with you. You will find that I have a
very knowledgeable and capable staff. They are the reason for my success. My promise to you is that your questions will be
answered, you will receive a no-obligation quote and that you will be treated with courtesy and professionalism.
